Preparations

On 26th November,2010 the names of the students who will represent our boarding school in the United States were finally divulged. The group which is going to visit Riverstone International School, in Boise, is:

Luísa Nico – SP
Hugo de Oliveira – GO
Laura Tasca – RS
Victor Lucas – TO
Augusto César – RO
Letícia Lívia – RN

They are going with the history teacher Fernanda Marcelo. The other group is visiting The Community School, in Sun Valley. Here are the names:

Amanda - Distrito Federal
Jordy - Rondônia
Melina - Rio de Janeiro
Raisa - Santa Catarina
Wellington - Piauí
Yara - São Paulo

We are going with the portuguese language teacher Maria de Lourdes.

Since then, we have been doing a LOT of things to be really prepared to represent our school and country.

Meetings with teacher Gloria have happened since the day we know the responsibility we’ve received. And during vacations the work didn’t stop: sending our bio, scheduling visa interview, doing Power Point presentations about our beautiful countries and respective regions, planning our scrapbook, getting authorizations, posting on the blogs and promoting them, so that everybody of the school, even in vacations and in home in different regions can have wide access to it. Studying more about Brazil and the US, trying to know everything possible about where we are going and about what we are representing.

We have talked a lot between us so as to everyone to now everything that is happening about the exchange program. Helping with every little detail, as arranging winter clothes (Thank you, Laura Tasca and Weell =D), doing the visa interview and filling all the looooooooong forms (Thank you Nico and Jordy =D), exchanging ideas, suggestions and knowledge (Thanks to everybody!). Doubtless, our contact is more intensive now for our travel that becomes nearer with every single second passing.

This last week in Brazil has been very busy and full of intensive feelings. We are anxious to see our dream coming true, sorry for knowing that one of us won’t be physically representing the school in the USA with us because of some visa unforeseen events, but knowing that with this we have another responsibility of good representation, and excited with all the preparations.

Tomorrow we are getting together at the school, at Rio de Janeiro. Some of us are already arriving at Rio today. We are spending the night there and on Saturday evening we are going to the USA and then on Sunday arriving there. As soon as possible we’ll be posting here about our arrival.

See you soon!
